About the NEXUS Scholars Program
The NEXUS Scholars Program is designed to support Masters and PhD students seeking degrees related to data science. Students in this up to 2-year program will receive:
Scholarship Funding: up to $20,000/year as determined by financial need
Cohort Programming: activities related to data science research, peer mentoring, skill-building and more
1:1 Mentoring: individualized and regular meetings with mentor
Conference: attend the S-STEM Scholars Meeting to network with other S-STEM Scholars and potential employers, as well as get a chance to present your research
Travel: up to $2,000 for travel related to research or data science-related learning opportunities
Research Data Center Access Support: Funds to access the Wasatch Front Research Data Center and support through application process
What is NSF SSTEM?
NSF SSTEM stands for National Science Foundation Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This program supports institutions of higher education to fund scholarships for academically talented low-income STEM majors and to study and implement a program of activities that support their recruitment, retention and graduation. Accepted students can receive up to $20,000/year in scholarship funds. The exact amount is determined based on the financial need of the indfividual student.
